I just purchased a 1960A cab from a friend of my guitar teacher for £150. i dont have a head but though it was a steal, Im looking for a head £800> for the cab, could I have suggestions to which heads would be suited?
I play Guns n Roses, Metallica, Foo Fighters etc Mainly Hard Rock/ Metal.

I think they'll all get more or less in the ballpark of what you want. You have to decide for yourself

Any of those amps would suit your style really, go out and try them all and see which you like most

Im leaning toward the jcm 800 really because ive heard the best about it, not too sure about the 900 or the engl, anybody ever had experience with the engl?

Judging by reviews, I'd say JCM800 (Metal) if you rather Gn'R or JCM900 (Grunge) for the Foos.

The 2203 is easily the best of those.


2203 = classic marshall plexi tone with more gain on tap and more aggressive voicing
JCM900 = marshall's poor attempt at modern tones
