there's probably been a thread about this, but what's music you listen to when you just want something laid back, calm, basically anything chill.

for me its: nick drake, simon and garfunkel, tom waits (his earlier more traditional stuff), the beatles (rubber soul), sigur ros, van morrison, and elliott smith.

David Gilmour's "On An Island" is the ultimate in chill music, as well as Brian Eno's "Ambient" albums, and a lot of the Red Hot Chili Pepper's later stuff.
