oh ok. like some companies use the decal or stickers to look like a maple top finish but its not. know what i mean? but yeah its cool. thanks for the reply.

It'll most likely be a veneer - real wood, just very, very thin.

No its not. Its like seagull said a veneer (<1mm). Its not a maple 'top', like in more high end guitars (5 - 8mm).

Its not about good.
Its about a quite small difference in sound, and weight. For the rest its all about esthetics and rich people wanking.
If your guitar isnt over 1000$, you can be pretty sure its veneer. Even some guitars over 1000$ have veneer. For example the Jackson SL3 (if im not mistaking) has veneer, and costs 1000+
