Harmonic Minor? Or something nice and 'evi'l sounding. I'm not too good with scales, I just get by with the natural minor, pentatonic, blues scale and the hexatonic!

I'm not to keen on theory, but minor scales are good. I grab arpaggios out of that all the time...

You sweep arpeggios, which are chords, not scales, my friend.

yeah but you can use scales to create appegios still, even though their made from chords

By definition an arpeggio is derived from a chord, not a scale. Arpeggios come from chords which come from scales.

Anyway; if you can make the physical motion work then sweeping, like any other technique, works well with any musical idea.

wrong

you use intervals to create arpeggios some of these will fit into a scale fingerprint, but not always, i like sweeping a 6 string cmaj7 then moving it down chromaticly, to B,Bb,then A

another one im fond of at the moment is major arp moving up a minor 6th, so ascend up Cmaj and decend down Abmaj

i always prefer the sound of non diatonic arpeggios

you can speed pick scales (ala frank gambale) and if you want to be REALLY silly u can sweep them...but try sweeping this amin scale

---------------------1-3--------
------------------5--------------
---------------7-----------------
-----------10---------------------
------14----------------------------
-17-----------------------------------

silly right?
