I'm currently in the process of looking into building my own Strat.

http://www.giventowail.com/gearlist.php?who=mike&what=all#guitars

The above link lists McCready's guitars (with links to pictures).

Does anyone know what type of pickups he uses in his '59, and '62 Strats?

Much thanks.

And if your thinking of upgrading your strat in your sig, unless it's an 80s one, it's not worth it (I take it is a newish one)...

The really new ones are basswood, and are therefore BETTER than the 80's ones since they have plywood bodies.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

^are you being serious? The 80's ones are supposed to really great. Todays aren't very good.
