ive been singing for 9 or 10 months now( i practice in my car too and from work, about a fifteen minute drive) and im getting pretty good, my voice is fairly smooth but i can make it kind of gravaly like john lennon. the thing im having problems with is the rock and roll yell, like rodger daltry. i want to learn how to do that but i dont want to wreck my voice.

my question is can i practice this without permanently ruining my voice?

and before anyone asks, no i dont have a teacher and i dont plan on getting one any time soon.

thanks for your advice

If you're doing it right, you'll feel the crown of your head buzzing. If you don't feel that at all, stop doing it, and make sure you have a ton of water if you're gonna practice it, because it will dry the hell out of your throat.
