either Alien Sex Fiend (they also have a live drummer sometimes) or Sisters of Mercy (exclusively drum machine)

note: this is just rock oriented bands, if I went into Industrial stuff I could come up with more.

when did they ever really use a drum machine? I mean i know they used some stuff like that to help out the drummer since he only has one arm, but I don't think they ever just used a drum machine, so they don't really count IMO.

Or skill for that matter.

no, but it sure as hell takes skill to program one effectively.

I can't believe that there are so few drummers that bands use a "drum machine" me and my band don't even use a drum machine.

you aren't special. a lot of bands don't use drum machines because they carry on that notion that "drum machines have no soul" or whatever the hell. the truth is that, on a traditional drum set, you can't get the same sounds and textures that you can with most drum machines.

it's not like artists use drum machines just to make the same sounds that any drummer could make.

i hate it when people are close-minded to things like drum machines or samplers or anything beyond guitar/bass/keyboard/drum. the technology is there, why wouldn't you utilize it?

Haha

They dont really use a drum machine though, I think he has a sound board or something that he hits with his foot for things like drum rolls. Personally, I hate the band, but I respect the drummer for trying to drum with one arm.

Though I'd have personally chosen Husikam Rave Dojo. Tune and a half.

Well the 'best' band is all a matter of opinion. You should change the title to 'your favourite.'
