I bought a new MIM Stratocaster about two weeks ago and I keep it in standard tuning. Today I noticed that my bridge was pulling up about 1/4 to 1/2 of an inch so I immediately tuned down my strings so that the bridge fell back into place. Is the bridge pulling up normal or do I have to fix it in some way?

take the panel off the back of your guitar, and tighten the screws going into the back, the ones the spring attaches to
is it tremolo?
Put a piece of wood to block it.

You Sir, have the best signature like ever!
1/2" to 1/4" is a little high - most people either have it flush or 1/8"

you can add a couple of springs to increase the tension, too - different option than tightening the screws.

I never use my Strat trem, so I carved a piece of wood to block mine.
