My top 5 is:
1. Tender Surrender - Steve Vai
2. November Rain - GN'R
3. Fade to black - Metallica (idk why but i love the intro "solo")
4. Farewell Ballad - Zakk Wylde
5. For The love of god - Steve Vai

(this is just my opinion) by the way all those lists are wrong. I mean, eruption? wtf that's just noise

One Way Out from Allman Brothers At Fillmore East should be on there.

Dickey Betts+ Duane Allman's Slide Guitar is pure genius.

Well, I like 15 out of the the 20 on that list, so it's not perfect, but neither bad for me.

It's hard for me to choose a particular solo, but I'd say most solos by John Frusciante, SRV, Hendrix, Gilmour, Buck Dharma, Mikael Äkerfeldt, Billy Gibbons or Allen Collins.
- Fender American Standard Ash Telecaster w/ DiMarzio Chopper T & Twang King
- Alhambra 5P
- Laney Lionheart L5T-112
- Line 6 POD XT
- Suhr Shiba Drive
- MXR Carbon Copy Analog Delay
- Dunlop Cry Baby

The fact that John Petrucci is only third from the bottom of the list also disturbs me.

Top two solos for me are Boston's "Hitch a Ride" solo and Eddie Van Halen's solo for "Beat It". The Boston solo my not be the most technical but its more than epic.

No Steve Hackett or Steve Howe = instant fail.

The solo from Yes's America always makes me smile.

Any solo from Selling England by the Pound is gold...
i like progressive rock

I actually am pleased that Blackmore is on that list, most times he's just left off, he's so underrated these days.

Still, the could have had Lazy or Burn on that, those are brilliant solos. Oh well, there's no such thing as the 'best' solo, it's just opinion, like the best guitar players, best song, best riff, etc etc.
