I know this is a guitar forum, but I got a tech question for you guys.

I'm buying a new Mac for university, but I've used Windows for all my life. So I'm gonna buy a external hard drive and transfer my music/movies/pix from my old Windows PC to my new Mac.

So when I do this, if the harddrive is formatted in FAT32 format the Mac can read/access all the files from the harddrive, right?

Or do the files turn in to Read-Only files? And do I have to reformat the HD to some kind of Maciintosh format??

I hope there are some tech geeks on UG...

Just format it to NTFS. Mac OS X has read-only capabilities for NTFS. Just rip everything on the NTFS drive to your mac.
