Everyone says hanged, but when someone says that, they sound like rednecks

example: "I saws me this one black feller in 1951, so i dun went en hanged him."

or is it hung? its sounds more...not retarded

example: "The women were hung for their withcraft."

The English language is ridiculous. But it's hanged.

People are hanged, objects are hung.
I am hung like a black stallion. I was hanged like a black.

hey, my mom has a degree in english. "Hung" is the past tense of the verb "hang." But when you change the noun "hanging"- pertaining to execution- to a verb, you change the noun to a verb by replacing "ing" with "ed", resulting in "hanged." It's retarded, I know.

The act of hanging someone is hanged.

Hung is just generally something being suspended in the air by something.

You only use "hanged" when referring to execution. Otherwise, it's "hung".

And it pisses me off.

I don't know why, but I suspect it is simply because English is retarded.
