I've noticed that on my Spector that even though I lowered the action on it, the strings still sit very high above the frets past the 14th fret or so which makes it somewhat difficult to play on the higher frets. How would I adjust the truss rod to fix this, or is it something else?
Try lowering the bridge saddles.
That could be a truss rod problem. A good way to double check is fret on the 17th fret and see how even the string height is - or if it's touching. If you don't know what you doing, it's best letting a repair shop do that adjustment. It is a quick - and should be cheap - procedure.
