I just got a tubescream kit from general guitar gadgets, but the contact leads have these white pads on them. I just wanted to make sure...

are these white pads conductive and accept solder?

Do you mean like paper?

If its paper on the ends, just pull it off. That was how they were attached in large quantities.
All my photobucket pics are dead so no links to my guitar build threads.

ends of what?

No on all of the holes on the backside of the circuit board just have white pads... im assuming they accept solder and are conductive I just dont wanna **** anything up

Yeah you should be fine. GGG boards are standard stuff.
Please, call me Chase.

I tried taking tem off and they wouldnt, and I tried soldering and they took the solder like a charm, so no worries... I'll take a picture if I can, I just found my digital camera, and I dont know where my memory card is, lol

NOOOOO you need those to solder to the board. it connects the components to the protected copper traces

Sorry another quick question, but sorry about the bump...

If you check out the clipping LED's here
http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/pdf/ggg_its8_mods.pdf

I take it those are suppose to be reverse polarity, but theres no posistive or negative on there. So does it not matter as long as they are opposite?

not for the LED's? but i figured, they had a square and a circle for the holes, and all the caps the posistive side went to the squares, and they are diodes so i figured they had to be reversed polarity from each other...

but anyways just didnt wanna **** everything up. When i got everything wired I put one of the IC's in backwards I guess... and the thing heated up ridiculously quick... But after I got that plugged in, everything worked like a charm...

it is now the coolest best sounding pedal I have... And extremely versatile with that switch to switch between the different clipping types... UGH if god made a guitar pedal this is it...

the only thing I think I did wrong with the battery snap... the LED turns on with the battery in and without the cables in, which I dont think it's suppose to, I musta wired it to the stereo input jack wrong...but I have a power brick which works fine, so no worries, haha...

long story short... coolest pedal ever...

the longer leg is positive... I know, its not that it's that the schematic didn't say but as long as they where in reverse polarity of each other it didnt really matter...

but I got it all sorted out, no worries...badass pedal by the way
