Hey UG, I have been playing guitar off and on for about 7 to 8 years all self taught. I am going back to college at the end of this month to pursue a degree in music and am really getting into a dedicated practice routine. Any tips/advise would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Ok, so far I figured a 4 hour practice session wouldn't be too slack nor too aggresive and this is what I have...

Hour 1: 15min warm up, 15min tremolo's, 30min scales

Hour 2: 30min alternate picking patterns (Paul GIlbert's lick http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ACBff9EFsFw&feature=related )

30min sweep arpeggios

Hour 3: 1 Hour Cover Song Practice (whatever random tune I'm into atm)

Hour 4: 30min music theory
30min rock history

Also does anyone know any information about Cumberland University's bachelor of music program? Thats where I'll be going. Moving from my home Atlanta, GA to Nashville ugh! Guess life is all about sacrifices =) Thanks again everyone!

No rhythm guitar at all? If you doing lead you may not need it but it might come back and bite you in the ass in the future.
