I wanted to go classic and classy, but looking at it i want a shell pick-guard.
Now, a question of etiquette - as I pass, do I give you the ass or the crotch?

i personally think the ray is better with no pg

I agree that it could, but with the screws in there, it looks really weird.

My sig explains what most of it is.

The bass in the middle is an encore pk-40 that i have defretted, added a jazz pickup, painted the body, extended the fingerboard, painted the headstock black and cut down the scratchplate

I like analogue Solid State amps that make no effort to be "tube-like", and I'm proud of it...

...A little too proud, to be honest.

Guys I have played them all, Gibsons, Fenders, fretless, and the best bass guitar I have ever had my hands on is the 1980's model Peavey Dyna bass with the built in pre-amp. They don't make them anymore unfortunately.

*fixed*

If I had a bass that expensive I'd at least manage to string it right.

To you they may better but I would not trade you no matter what you have. It is what it does for you not how pretty it is nor how much it cost.

A pillow, sheet or a pillow dampener is put in the bass drum to muffle it, so it doesn't resonate as much. It gives a bit of a tighter sound and if you are practicing with less than happy neighbors nearby, its obviously not as loud.

Honestly, my drummer does it to get that distinctive tight thump on the bass drum.
