Have a dillema,

thinking about building a partscaster though with a american body or mexican
(they have same string spacing right?). will the neck pocket fit any of the fender necks?
for example a highway one? or a vintage shaped headstock neck?

thanks ug!

Fender strat neck pockets usually are 2 3/16 in.

the nut width doesn't really matter. Also, the neck pockets must be close to 2 3/16" so the neck A) doesn't wobble and B) has more contact with the body, which=better tone.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

MIM and MIA have different string spacing. MIAs have 2 7/32" string spacing/mounting whereas MIMs have 2 1/16"
