I found I the XD to be rather Nice actually. It can do hi gain since its modeling (allthough it is all tube)

Sounds like I plan. I say go for it.

Graphtech Nut & String Tree

but how long will it last?

I've still got my Microcube, I got it two years ago with my tax return...

People thought it was "cute" when I brought it to school, until I ran my PSP through it and started jamming along with Master of Puppets. 'Twas cool.
You know how sometimes you get the feeling that nobody's really listening?

Yeah, welcome to the internet.

alright. ill probablly stick to the guitar i wanna get... now just to check out these amps... which is reccomended? cube 30 60 15 20 what. and does the x at the end makea diff?
#14
mm. 60 seems a ltitle much. price wise. are the features really that much better than the 30?
#15
Get the 60, it'll do you well. I'm surprised no one's suggested a 5w valve amp with an OD pedal yet. When they do, ignore them.

musicians/a drummer.
So drummers aren't musicians eh?

The 15 and the 30 are garbage. They don't have the COSM modeling.

Get the Cube 60, it'll be good enough for when you decide to start playing other musicians/a drummer.

you mean the 15 and the 20?

going back to the super champ- i liked it when i tried it, however, i didn't think its metal models were amazing. I was trying it with a tele, though, so i probably didn't give the metal tones a good chance, to be honest.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

Get an Epi Valve Jr. with a nice OD to push it into metal territories!!

Sorry... but I just had to do that lol.

TS: To be honest JimPlaysGuitar is right. In my opinion when you are using an amp for practice then a SS is much better for heavy stuff than a tube... even with the best OD pedal. When it comes to metal, there's just something about a good SS amp's tone that just can't be emulated by a small tube amp.

With that said, look into the already mentioned amps (Roland).

HAHAHAHAHAH. actually the EVJ with OD was my first choice but then i went and looked more and then it was this and then this and then this and then finally we got here.... roland it is. 60 i guess. Super champ XD looks great but... i guess like you said it probably wont handle metal as well as a cube. i just never really looked much into cubes cuz of all the people out there saying DOOD GETS A TUBE AMP!!!!1!... anyway... if i can convince the parents to let me get guitar and amp itll be perfect. i got 240 with my mom owes me 50 so 290 there and then for bday i can hopefull yget about 400 bucks XD. if not ill have to wait. 400 seems a little too much for me...

I have to say that I really enjoyed the time I had my cube 60. The cube 60 on the rectifier setting does a much better job than trying to a valve junior to do the say thing. Even my traynor ycv20 won't do high gain as well as my cube 60 did. The cube 60 is a great amp for the money and you have to spend a fair bit more to upgrade from it.

Haha, no, didn't mean for it to sound like that. I have the utmost respect for my drummer.
Meant to specifically point out a drummer as the reason why he'd need more power.

Yes, I meant the 20.

I just suggested the 60 because I feel that it'll be more of a lasting investment.
#22
well glad to hear it. it might be a little much for a 1 y ear player but i guess ill scrape my $$ together haha
#25
^ yeah, it has stompbox modelling or some such guff. it's not as good modelling as the amp models on the 30/60 (or microcube) if you ask me.

ok well its convincing time adn then if i can do that i manaaged to find my like last years bday money and stuff so i scraped together 340 bucks o.0. plus 50 my mom owes me i now have enough for amp or guitar whichever i decide to go for first.... if only my parents would let me spend my savings acc money......

Yeah its basically stompboxes in the amp lol, which might not be good as the 30x, but its not the bad apple of the cubes like people seem to think.

i dunno, i tried the 15 a while back and it had the same stompbox models, and i thought it sounded pretty sterile...

are the 30x and 60 basically the same except the wattage? just curious.
#30
The 60 has a 12inch speaker. I prefered the 60 over the 30 because it had a fuller sound. Try them both and buy what you like.
#31
alright and another curious question.... whats the x mean? thers like a 30 and 30x right? if not then forget me XD im an idiot. but if there is maybe not. whats it mean?
#32
i think the x is a slightly newer model. i'm not sure if they changed anything on the newer one, to be honest.
