Rock n roll, like Elvis, Billy haley and the comets etc. i just don't think there's much of a market for it anymore, and it's getting smaller and smaller as every over-60 person dies.

No. I will revive it.

I'd say, blues.

no genres actually die out.

and of the ones listed in the poll, there is no chance that any of those will be the genres to make huge changes in fanbase soon. sorry TS, but you're kind of an idiot.

R+B is not RAP.

Power chords and the root note tremolo picked through out the whole song.
It's what I don't like about it, but it's still one of my favourite genres.

I don't like it because all the 80s Thrash bands need to quit because they can't actually write music any more, and all the new thrash bands are just identical to Slayer. I don't like the general vocal technique, most of the time its just shouting and I hate the scooped mids thing going on with most bands. Thats whats wrong with thrash

NO it's not. it's impossible not to play blues when you start improvising...and with these slash fans that say "oh he uses the minor blues pentatonic scale"...yeah no way.

I don't think any of these will die out. There have been hundreds of genres over the years, and most of them have just faded away into a small minority of record collections and a few underground gigs. They don't die, just grow old.
As long as humans have ears to listen, there will always be music.
#34
ha, who made this. thrash isn't gonna die and neither is anything up there other than maybe R&B. i could see Death Metal withering down withing the next few years, but i think that will only make it stronger seeing as only the good bands would be left.

not really, i mean it's not like artists such as him are bringing out much new stuff, they're all dead. and i can't think of any up and coming rock n roll acts reminiscent of that style, can you?

Rename the thread to 'Which variety of metal will die out soon?'

Only Metallica cant write anymore.

True, some new thrash bands do but most underground ones sound more like MW than Slayer. If you look at most genres you can say they all sound the same like most Power Metal.

The vocal thing is quite difficult to do well so most underground bands sound quite crap. Some resort to Growling which imo ounds good over thrashy riffs.

And re: scooped mids im crap so have never been able to tell the difference. I reli dnt know why :P

I used to be like that. Then I found the phrygian major and the double harmonic major scales.
