"I won't be home for christmas"

Verse:
Memories of home running through my head
As I read the letters that my family sent
There words give me encouragement
As I'm stuck here in this nightmare
In the trenches of sorrow and despair

Chorus:
Fighting for our freedom we marched of to war
To save the world from the nazi scum
Is what we were fighting for

They told as you were captured
But we still prayed that you would come home
The Years they passed by and we knew you were gone
You died a hero...

Verse2:
I've lost alot of friends since I shipped out here
Seen alot of things that I could never tell
I just hope that I can go back home soon
Gotta get back to my family and get out of this hell...end

What do you think

...he's going off to war and won't be home for christmas? :-/

I suggest retitling though.. "I won't be home for christmas" is also by Blink-182.

I recommend you change the title, since its a blink song and there are no Christmas references at all.

who cares about the title, really?
"i'd give my soul to be where i was a year ago... if i had a soul left to give"

This is about my grandpa who fought in world war II who wrote to my grandma telling her he would be home before christmas, but he died as a prisoner of war. Now that I've explained the title can you please crit the actual piece. thanks.

I like it, but the chorus is kinda weak and "scum" is a bad word to use.
