First of all, I'm not sure if this is the right place for this question, so if it isn't, mods can feel free to move it. Anyway I was just wondering what some of you guys ear transcribing methods are. I know you obviously have to listen to the song. But how do people tab out those insanely fast solos? My ears can't keep up when trying to analyze stuff like that. Do most people use a program of sorts, like audacity, to slow the track down?

ya check out the book "Hearing and Writing Music" its VERY helpful on getting to where u can think out what u hear

really what people do on the insanely fast stuff is hear it and then slow it down mentally untill it is easy to hear the intervals, after a while you dont have to slow it down much to get it instantly

I've had the tiny ones in my mouth and accidentally swallowed a bit of the liquid, you should be all right.
