I just saw this video for this newer band that I've never heard of before, and don't call me sexist or anything but I don't like female screamers, but this girl is pretty good at it.

But what got me the most was the bassist playing a 6 string bass, and doing it fairly well might I add. Just wanted to throw this band out there so some other people can tell me what they think of them.

I'm not trying to say "OmGzz ThEsE gUyz Ruelzzz!!11", I mean, their OK, but I personally just find them kind of... well, out of the box.

Their called Straight Line Stitch.

Here's the video.

Electric - you plug it into a power outlet in the wall and the music comes from little speakers in the guitar.

hmm, interesting. not a fan of the vocals, or the drums in it really, idk why, just didnt. i liked the bass too tho!!

They aren't bad, but the actual genre of metal I'm not really into. I don't really like her screaming type. It's not distorted enough.

But their bassist is sick.

yeah the bassist is great n i kinda like her screaming but still think otep is better...now to look at it again lol

Pretty standard
Bassist wasn't as great as everyone's saying, it's not like what he's doing hasn't been done before... But yes, he's a good player
Vocals are good
Drums are good
Guitars are good

That's its problem, it's all good, but nothing stands out. There's bands out there that are already doing this, and doing it much better. Feels uninspired to me, I won't check it out.

Hahaha. They're from my townnnnnn. They're pretty great. I've seen them once or twice. Seth their guitarist said he'd buy me a beer but then I told him I was only 16. So he said to wait a few years haha.

It's not grindcore at all. it's by the book metalcore, like Killswitch engage, except the black lead singer is a girl in this case.
#13
meh. Pretty typical. Nothing I'd call....good. The vocals and lyrics are pretty typical nu metal (see Otep and Kittie). As are the instrumentals, really...
I LOVE nu-core
-_-

1. Band isn't grindcore. Or "out-of-the-box". At all. Whatsoever. But it really sounds like a nu-metal/metalcore blend. Calling it pure metalcore is too flattering.
2. Guitars, drums and bass are all incredibly simple. I didn't even know there were 3 guitar players. It sounds like everyone is just mirroring the bassist's dumbed down riffs.
3. Screamer is bad. Singing voice isn't good either.

no thx.

They don't sound like dragonforce at all, and you really have absolutely no room to talk.

I really don't hear what everyone is practically jerking off about over the bassist... Hes ok but not like "OMFG" worthy. This is omfg worthy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AdK_CXYyzAk

And the singer was cool i guess? Seems more like a shock value gimmick that theres a black female screamer than an actual amazing band. Don't mean to sound like an elitest fag i have respect for all musicians.
