Now, I am in no way a racist or a bigot. This is just what I observed while watching a couple of my favorite movies.

It seems that in quite a few movies where a demolitions expert is involved, this is usually taken by an African-American person. I've noted a few examples.

In The Italian Job, the explosives guy is Mos Def, who is an African-American.

In Pulp Fiction, when Mia Wallace is referring to her short-lived television show "Fox Force Five," she mentions that the African-American chick was, in fact, a demolitions expert.

And, correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the black robot, Jazz, in the Transformers Movie an explosives guy too? I apologize for this one, because I forget if he was or wasn't.

Also, feel free to add more examples.
Bands I've seen live:

Def Leppard
Journey
Tool
Testament
Megadeth
Slayer
Mastodon
Deftones
Alice in Chains
Foo Fighters
Rodrigo y Gabriela

The demoman in TF2 is a black Scotsman with one eye.
There ain't no moral to this story at all. Anything I tell you very well could be a lie.

today?

burrit0 has been saying that for as long as I can remember.

Edit: and to answer your question, it's most likely because society is stereotypical. Black people are seen as more rugged, intimidating, cool, etc etc. perfect for this sort of role. I do not at all condone of these or any stereotypes but that's the way it is.

Yeah. In my neck of the woods, when you need **** blown up, you call the nearest redneck.

That's kind of a coincidence mentioning Bernie Mac, from Ocean's Eleven.

He died yesterday.
