I have a roland microcube, and I've heard a lot that pedals dont sound well with them. I only play at home so I need a quiet amp, but one that can sound great with the lot of pedals. My money limit is around $400 and I play rock/metal.

Better versatility, more things I can do that most amps cant.

You could try and modeller like Line 6 Flextone

he already has a modeller, i think he wants to be able to switch to different fx and stuff without having to tweak the amp each time.

thats how i use my epi vj. volume about 10 o'clock and an eq pedal give me a very nice clean sound. if i want metal tone i step on a metal muff. and classic rock tones i use a tube screamer. i can just sit and play and not have to get up and change any settings just PLAY. the vj or a blackheart + a couple pedals would be a perfect fit for you.
