What are some intrumental songs that show skill, and not really speed? Or some very easy shred? EDIT: Without whammy raping.

Easy shred is pretty much an oxymoron...

Try "I'm alright" by Neil Zaza. It's got a cool melody, which isn't fast, but hard to pick. The live version has some fast sweeps, but the studio one doesn't. Good song.

Obsession Confession - Slash

That's just awesome.

Try some Fall of Troy stuff. Act One, Scene One and You Got a Dethwish, Johnny Truant arent too difficult, but do show some skill i think.

EDIT: Instrumentals? Idk. Cliffs of Dover isnt too fast, try learning some of those riffs.

"Berzerker Hypothesis" by Canvas Solaris, or anything else by them.
anything by Mr. Bungle or Primus, Mr. Bungle especially
"Egg", "Stubb (a Dubb)", and "Carousel" are all good.

Muse's songs generally have great riffs and that are very learnable too.

Arch... you mean asturias by Isaac Albeniz, and I dont think he wants classical guitar pieces which requires a totally different set of techniques haha especially that piece

ooh and i agree with love thing by satch, also try "a love eternal" i think its called, also by Joe Satriani. Hand on heart by steve vai. Melodia by Neil Zaza
