hey guys, is a marshall jcm800 2204 50 watt tube head louder than the jcm800 2203 100 watt head? just asking because i know that tube heads are supposed to be crazy loud. and which one is the better head to get?

Well, 100 watt head is also a tube head, so i doubt the 50 watt head is louder. They are probably close in volume, though. 50 watts is more than enough for most applications.

Yeah the entire JCM800 range comes in heads, and you can get 2203 and 2204 combos.

I think it's worth noting the volume difference is likely negligible. The 2203 just has more clean headroom.
