I'm buying an American Standard Strat at some point in the (hopefully) near future but I'm not sure if I should get a Maple or a Rosewood. I like the darker Rosewood color on the neck (with a Sunburst body), but what are other differences between the two?

Why is it that some folks quote praise from other members in their sig lines?
Its lame.
Depends on the body, sunburst, I would go rosewood.

But for overall FEEL, maple ftw.

My things:
Bowes SLx7
Washburn WG587
Washburn X40Pro
Washburn X50
Washburn HM24
Washburn WR150
Laguna LE200s
Arietta Acoustic
First Act
Valveking 112
VHT Deliverance

Playing on maple feels like butter, so smooth! But yeah, I guess it could kind of depend on look too. Maple would go perfect with a black body.
crazy talking animals
I personally HATE all maple unless it's on a highway tele butterscotch blonde. So I say rosewood.

Maple is snappier and brighter than rosewood. I like maple for its funk and expression, but rosewood has a warmer sound for that magic neck singlecoil sound.
