So, i was looking through some old boxes, and i found my Gameboy color, and my pokemon games, I played Gold version and beat the elite four, and Red (the final boss), and i was wondering, when was the last time you in the pit played Poke'mon? Go ahead... remaniss. You know that Ash is you Hero, Pikachu is Bad Ass, and that your Squirtle was you best friend when you where little.

Also, i was wondering if anyone knows were i can get TM08, it's Rock Smash, and they sell it at goldenrod dept. store, but it's not there any more, were else can i get it in Poke'mon gold?

You shoulda got it off that dude in Violet City near where Sudowoodo is... I think.

And be careful with Gold, the internal battery might run dry. This is why we need remakes.

The carts were made back before flash memory had been made viable. So to save the data a charge has to be kept in the cart at all times, to do so they have a small watch battery in them. Which has a life span of about 7 years in one of those carts.

Coo', you're welcome.

Yeah. Happened to my Crystal too. I think my Silver still works. O_o

I'm unable to find Gold.

Quote by fret-less
is it possable to get a new battery and put it in without lossing memory?

As far as I know, it's impossible, which is why we need Gold and Silver remakes.

You can change the battery, but doing so will wipe any saved games on it.

There's no solid evidence that that is happening, but there is evidence that nintendo have kept the option open.

Diamond and pearl have the data to allow it to say that pokemon were encountered or captured in johto.

Yeah.
Strange thing is though, its only the gold and silver ones that don't save. I got into it last January in the holidays through sheer boredom, had to rebuy gold version off ebay that had a cartridge that saved.
They need to do a remake of gold and silver for gameboy instead of that PSP shite.

EDIT: It's possible to change batteries, but you need to chisel the other one out and weld another one in without doing any damage to any other internal thing.

They'll make it for the DS.

I think Gold and Silver would be awesome with better graphics.

Get the visualboy advance, apparently it's better.

I don't like playing Pokemon games on anything that ISN'T a handheld console though. I think it's just me.

I think pokemon would be awesome if it had every region, every pokemon (including promotional ones) available on a single version instead of 2 versions to boost sales and increased the max level to 200.

Also, its possible to change the battery, but you need to chisel the old one out at the welds and put a new one in and welding/soldering it in place without doing internal damage to the cartridge.

EDIT:

As cool as that would be (although I don't think 200 would be viable, 100 hundred is a bastard as it is) Its not gonna happen

Nah, the pokemon franchise sells more by creating another 100 pokemon that look like fucking robots, but all are similar to the old pokemon.
It doesn't happen to Blue and Red btw. My red version works fine, and I used the glitches in it to get 6 mews to lvl 100.
All I ever needed was Kangaskhan.

Also, I just found my old gold cart! It still works!

I just sold pearl version a few weeks ago... Got like 22 bucks for it

Btw I'm not gonna keep buying this crap unless they bring some new stuff to the table battle-wise.

We need something fresh. And a Gold and Silver remake.

Both those things would make Fazzle's day.

I beat Diamond last winter. So far, I've crushed Red, Blue, Yellow, Silver, Ruby, Leaf Green, Emerald, and Diamond.

Of all the games, Silver was the most boring, though it did have the best new set of Pokemon outside of the original 151.

BAMFest pokemon ever, with the possible exception of Tyrannitar.

I loved pokemon back when I was an elementary school kid. Who here ever had to sit inside during recess because they tried to trade pokemon cards at school? I usually hid in the tunnels in the playset to keep teachers from seeing them.
