Which pickups (in theory) are the best for playing
guns n roses
pearl jam

but also metal?

I'm searching for Slash's sound, Buckethead and such.
but also for a fat tone for metal, like hoobastank.

active/passive?
EMG? Seymour Duncan? Dimarzio?
and what model.

thanks.

'59 in the neck, SH-5 custom in the bridge....

great combo, the SH-5 is slight bit middier and bassier than the JB, so it allows good versatility

If you're in the UK you owe it to yourself to buy Bareknuckle pickups; they are beyond awesome.

I'm not in the UK

Shame, DiMarzios of some kind like a D-sonic and Air norton combo seem like the obvious choice to me but it all depends on what amp you've got and what sound you're trying to get to really.
