tomorrow is the day, i'm finally going to buy a Bass. but i can't choose between two pretty ones (or guitars i think are the best)

the first one is the Yamaha BB614 Active 4-String Bass

here is some more info:
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Yamaha-BB614-Active-4String-Bass?sku=519161

the second one is the Squier by Fender Standard P Bass Special 4-String Bass Guitar

info:

i think i will use this bass to play punk and softrock

So dear UG wich one should i buy?
Other Basses are also welcome, but keep in mind my budget is 600$

EDIT

this is the amp: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Roland-Cube30-Bass-Combo-1X10-Amp?sku=480178

thx in advance

Does your budget include money for an amp?
If music was the food of love I'd be a fat romantic slob.

Well the Yamaha is the better bass...but

Well we can deal with both things in the same thread if you feel the need to ask about amps. However, I really hope you go out and try these basses. It strikes me that you're just going to order straight off the internet, which is a bad idea. If you have tried them out, I apologise. It's just that you can't judge the feel or tone of the bass from a picture, or even soundclips on the internet.

lol

no i'm not going to buy them off the internet^^

tomorrow i'm going to the local guitar store, but i've tried them though... and the amp is allready bought^^

so that's no problem^^

just needed some suggestions^^

Based on the look of the Yama I would go for the Squier by Fender Standard P Bass Special. Not only does your bass have to sound good but it has to damn look good too.

...if it has to look good he shouldn''t take something that looks like a fender

Yamaha all the way!

I can't believe you are whoring yourself out like that.

Good amp choice. I would go with the Yamaha personally, as I really despise Squier. (Don't call me ignorant for this, as I actually own Squier instruments).
