I think I'd like a custom shop Jazzman 5, an old Ampeg fliptop, a Mutron, a crystal clear sounding DI, a fat sounding tube distortion (maybe an EHX English Muff'n), a sterile sounding overdrive and a stereo volume pedal so I can pan between my Warwick and a nice old Moog synth. There's no way that's under budget! I got carried away there
#10
Where do I start?

HS 5 string MM Sterling in gun metal blue with black pickguard

Corvette $$ in nirvana black

Ibanez SR506

Two Peavey Tour 700s, with matching 4x10s and 1x18s (two of each).

Mutron, Boss compressor, octaver and overdrive, Sansamp bass driver DI (rackmount)

effects would run into two 4x10s and a clean signal running underneath out of the 18s.

(signal would be split by Morley ABY box).

My P-Bass that I already own
Fender Jaguar Bass in red
Musicman Stingray in cherry burst/maple
Fender Mustang Bass in white

Ampeg SVT-3 Pro Head
A bunch of rack nonsense
Ampeg 8x10 fridge cab

EHX Bass Muff
Korg Kaoss Pad (KP3)
Bass Crybaby

That should come in well under 10 grand. I'll donate the rest to some kind of save the music fund.
Telecaster - SG - Jaguar
Princeton Reverb, Extra Reverb
P-Bass - Mustang Bass
Apogee Duet 2 - Ableton Suite

A G&L L-2500 (natural, maple fretboard) to match my Tribute and ASAT (semi hollow blue burst)

A Mesa Big Block 750 with Mesa Powerhouse 8x10

and the rest (assuming there is any) is pocketed
SX Ursa 2
G&L Tribute L-2500
Ibanez ATK700 (all but sold)
Ashdown Elec. Blue 180 (need something else...)

Along with stuff I already own?

A custom 7 string (Not sure who... possibly Nordstrand, possibly Ramirez, possibly someone else)
A custom 5 string (Valenti)
A EBMM Bongo 6 single H

Mesa Boogie Big Block 750
2 Mesa Powerhouse 410's

A custom commissioned pedal board

A bunch of pedals I don't feel like thinking about.
haha

Do I go with £5000 or £10000?

Let's go with £10,000 so I can make myself depressed about not bein able to afford this stuff ever.

Warwick Jonas Hellborg pre amp- £1399
Warwick Jonas Hellborg 500watt power amp- £1349
Trace Elliot 1028H-£396
Trace Elliot 1518- £439
Warwick Infinity SN 5- £1375
Fender American Deluxe 4 string fretless- £1045
Unknown compressor. I'm a simple man.

And I have about £4000 left on that, so a Jerzy Drozd fretless bass will be in there.
#15
Well I already own my dream bass and amp without going custom shop (all maple euro spector, ampeg SVT and 8x10), but once I build my own bass that I designed (or combined ideas from other basses and guitars), I honestly couldn't think of anything else I'd like other than a lifetime supply of Elixirs and a good wireless system.

Oh, and a '62 Precision reissue. Possibly a real one if I could find it.

rickenbacker 4003 in jetglo

ampeg reissue svt classic
ampeg reissue 810

Assuming its all possible to work together (needs to get me some edumacation on head and cabs and what works with what) I would get this amp setup:

Trace Elliot AH1000-12 1000W Bass Amplifier Head
Trace Elliot 1048H 4x10" 800W Bass Cabinet
Trace Elliot 1518 1x15" 500W Bass Cabinet

Along with the following:
Rickenbacker 4003
Schecter 004
BadAss II (for my fretless)
Fender Custom Shop 60s J-Bass Pickup Set (again for my fretless. heard one with them before. It sounded purdy)
Mackie 802-VLZ3 Compact Mixer (because I already spent too much and can't get the Mackie Onyx 4880 which runs about $6,000 )
Some form of acoustic-electric bass. Not sure what kind yet, though there aren't many options.

All of which comes to ~$6,700 after tax, not counting whatever I spend on the acoustic. Really surprised it isn't more. Oh well, can't complain. Leaves me about $2,000 to pay off my car, which works out quite nicely

Ok, revision to my previous statement. If I had the money, I'd go all out and get a custom-shop Fender. I would get a Precision, black on black with a maple fretboard. The catch is, I'd have black block inlays like the Geddy Lee Jazz, but still on a precision neck. I definitely prefer the feel and sound of a P to a J. There's really nothing too special about it, but it's DEFINITELY the sexiest bass I'll ever dream of playing.

you buy such nice basses and still make them sound like crap by putting them through THAT cab!? damn man.

this thread has been done before.
but nonetheless

a GK Fusion 550
an SWR Goliath 8x10

figure thats $2000 out of the way.

a Electroharmonix POG
a dunlop crybaby 105Q
an electroharmonix q tron
one of those GK distortion pedals they stopped making I think?
a Boss bf2b flanger
an Akai Deep Impact Synth pedal
a Talkbox and a PA

figure thats $2500

so thats $4500 out of the way. uhhh.
oh yeah I didnt buy my basses yet.

my exact Musicman bongo new
4500 + 1500 = 6000
my exact tacoma thunderchief
6000 + 1000 = 7000
the highest fender american p-bass that isnt a relic or special model or whatever, the 1200 $ one
7000 + 1200 = 8200

uh. what can I do with 1800 left.

I'd buy a fridge, attach it to my cab, and put a lot of soda in it.
8200 + 1800 = 10,000

there. I win. right? I won, right?
