Greetings fellow UG Community folk.

So my band is looking to do some form of UK tour next year, and I need your help.....

Are there any venues you can recommend for small bands to play in your town/area?

For instance, I'm from the Bolton/Manchester region, so if I was asked this question I'd point people in the direction of the Dog and Partridge in Bolton, and the Ruby Lounge in Manchester.

My band falls into the hard rock/sleaze/glam metal catagory...

We've got a few venues that have been forwarded onto us, such as Junktion 7, and Bradford Rios.

So, anything you can recommend based on past experiences or friend's endorsement would be great!

Thanks in advance.

The Glasgow Garage, G2, Classic Grand and ABC1 are all good venues.

I've heard good things about King Tuts, but it's over 18 so I haven't been in yet (I missed the Far reunion because of this )

This. Even though I've never been there, me and my mates were talking to Toby from the Stone Gods and he said that and Newcastle academy were his favorite venues. Leeds Rio's is also a good little venue.

The Louisiana, the Croft and the Fleece and Firkin in Bristol. Also have a look at the Bristol University and University of the West of England student's union bars.

I like the Cavern in Exeter

+1. That place is excellent for small bands. Isn't that where Muse's first gig was? If you go on tour, go to the Cavern. The place is usually chocka when a band plays.
NOPE.

I'll add the Brook to Southampton.

Crappy venue but generally good turn outs at the Orange Box in Weymouth, get some pretty big bands there!!

Queens Hotel in Weymouth is getting awesome

Carling Academy Brixton.

Floor is sloped so you get awesome views!
Its a big venue, but it still feels really intimate.

I've seen Pendulum, Feeder/Fightstar, Disturbed and Avenged Sevenfold there!
