I'd say a warwick corvette, but with 800 your options are pretty open, MIA fenders are very good too. I suggest you go to a guitar store and have a go on some, see what you like.

fender p bass or jazz bass. nothing else is good for that style... actually nothing else is good besides musicman.

Yeah, after checking out some UK sites, That bass is out of your price range a bit. That doesn't mean that you can't save up 200 Euros? Pounds? and get it though.

An American Standard Precision definitely fits the bill. It'll give you everything you're looking for in a pop-punk bass.
