I like a lot of different types of music, and I'm trying to expand my horizons, so as to "study" and enjoy different music.

I would have posted this in one of the any sub boards, but I like different types of music.

Here's a small list of bands that I listen to OFTENLY or I DID listen to oftenly:

Weezer
Slipknot
Radiohead
The Offspring
Nirvana
Green Day
Metallica
Oasis
Gorillaz
The Killers
Nine Inch Nails
The Smashing Pumpkins

Yeah, I'm looking for maybe some heavy metal music...Punk music (NOT EMO, although I have nothing against emos lol, just don't like the nasal-whiney singing style)...Alternative.

Thanks.

Is that a ukulele in your pants, or did you just rip ass to the tune of "Aloha Oi"?

I met Sonic Youth on June 30th, and Mars Volta on Oct 20th.

I paraphrased what you said, to point out a little contradiction. Not that Smashing Pumpkins are bad, I quite like them, but still. Nice contradiction.

That doesn't really look like a weird list at all. In fact, it looks pretty narrow and limited genre wise.
It's Only Rock and Roll, But I like It

I meant whiney and nasally in the manner of someone like Tom Delonge from Blink 182...Although I don't mind Blink 182.

I don't know of any emo bands that have a nasally whiney sounding singer.

Anyways, if you want some good punk check out Jawbreaker.
