Quick question. When you're clamping down a trem in a strat (MIM) do you iterally screw it as far in as itll go? or is that going to put too much strain on the bridge/body/strings?

Ive clamped mine down quite a way but i still get a bit of a drop in pitch on open strings when i bend a different one. I just wanted to check i wasnt going to destroy it if i clamped it further.

How many springs are on it?

I put 5 springs on mine and tightened it pretty far. It has zero movement.

You can put a block of wood in there to keep it from moving at all. Just cut it slightly too big to fit and sand it until it slides in there with some pressure.
