My great grandpa bought a 1954 (I think) Gibson Invader combo amp. I'm guessing its a 75W or 100W. Its got a 18'' and a Jensen 12'' in it. Everything still works, with no abrasions in the tweed finish. The tubes and valves are all in working order and the light still works. It has a little age on the screws and the control panel, but thats about it.

Anybody have any idea on the value? I can't find another like it anywhere and was wondering if you guys would know.

It has an 18 inch speaker?
Cool.

Anyways, pics would help.
But, it's definitely worth something.

well, any gibson from 1954 is going to be worth A LOT
how does it sound?
what are you playing through it?

It sounds really great if you run it through a compressor and volume pedal. I use a Boss ME-50 because it was the best bang for the buck. Its go a relativly low hum if you set the mic right, for some reason it hums to much if you have the mic at the wrong volume.

It distorts to much. If you run through a pedal it doesn't distort.

Its an old tube amp, its suppose to naturally distort - its this little thing that nowdays is called overdrive.
