I was going to replace the pickups in my Epi LP, as they seem INCREDIBLY dull and lifeless compared to my Esp Viper 400's pickups now, but I don't want active pickups in my LP.....I'd like to keep the pickups clean on this guitar. I'd probably be playing more pop punk/ modern rock with this guitar.

Any good suggestions?

Meh, i dislike Dimarzios.

Go with a duncan JB for sure though.

I'd say no to the JB, personally. LP's just scream for a Seymour Duncan SH-1 '59 in the neck, and a Seymour Duncan SH-14 Custom 5 in the bridge.

The Jazz is okay, but I like how the '59 and the Alnico II Pro handle distortion, better.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

I personally hate my JB in my bridge of my Epi Les Paul. It's thin and terrible. And it sucks.

I don't have any recommendations for a better one, but I will advise against the JB.

either Duncan Custom or Custom 5 for bridge. basically, they just have different magnets. Full Shred or 59 for neck.
