I have a Peavey 6505+ that I am using a 15 band eq to adjust the sound of. I don't really like the idea of stacking equalizers. Is it possible to just go past the eq of the amp and equalize it with my 15 band? Right now I just set the settings to 5 on the low mid and high knobs on the amp to get a flat sound that I can further equalize with the 15 band.

put them all to 12:00 (or 5 or pointing up) so no boost, no cut, just like bypassing

I'm pretty sure the 6505+ has a passive EQ (the only amp with an active EQ I know of is the JSX), so you can't boost any frequencies with the EQ. The only cut. If you put all knobs to full, then you're getting the full uncut frequencies - however, that might not sound very good - you'll have to try it out. If having them all at 5 works for you, use it. I'd just EQ the amp so it sounds good, and then further tweak it with the EQ pedal.
