Woah this is really good.

I love the flute so much. And I also love the bassline you're using.

French horn was a bit loud at bar 14. It sounds fine through RSE though.

I love the bass at bar 22. You're a bassist, aren't you?

The synth/strings at 30 sound amazing combined with that bass riff.

Man, this is good.

113 = Amazing.

121 = Even more amazing oh my god.

I'm sorry man, but there's really not much for me to crit here.... it's all so good!

Wow 10/10 that was great. I couldn't really find anything wrong with it, great job.

Crit mine? It's in the bottom of my sig.

French Horn solo FTW!!! I loved it for hating the genre completely. The bass line and drum line completely blew my mind. The flute was amazing. I give it a 12/5. And I really hate jazz.

No, nobody on The Pit watches porn.

We also don't play guitar, eat, sleep, or even go on The Pit.

This isn't jazz but it is very, very good. Reminds me of something from Final Fantasy actually, at least thats the vibe I get. The melody is really good and I love the bassline! It really progresses nicely, very well composed. My only complaint is that the strings should have a slightly more interesting part because most people of this style tend to do what you did and just have them hold notes for a couple measures and just change it, imagine if an orchestra was too play that haha, they'd be pretty bored. I love the more jazzy type section at 120 and the French Horn solo, very very good. Overall great job, it had a really cool atmosphere, especially from the bass.

Okey, so...

The flute; it sounds more better if it's an octave higher at all parts, except bar 9 to 23.

Bar 22-29; I think you use too much snare. I know you had it there to accent the bass, but it kinda stalls the progress and disturbs the natural flow. No biggie though.

Bar 29-37; oh sweet Jesus, the sawtooth and the keyboard. I'm not religious but it feels like I'm in heaven.

Bar 38; again, one octave higher on the flute. Very nice time signatures, flows muchos grande.

I absolutely love the key change at bar 45, so beautiful and smooth.

The part after that is truly wonderful. One thing, please use the ride cymbal instead of the ride bell, it sounds so cold and hard.

Bar 62; Love. The. Harp. Where the bass and the harp plays the root note at tempo, seriously owns.

Bar 105; Flute and Horn solo. Great!

The jazz section is very well executed and well done. The guitar and percussion are awesome. Thumbs up, man!

The Horn solo is awesome. Nicely put chromatic notes.

I wish that the arpeggio(?) part that starts at bar 145 and ends at 148 could have least been repeated once, but with a different Horn part the second time.

Re-use of the bass/drum-section, nice!

END.

You don't really need 27 empty bars at the end.

Final summation: The bass was overall really good. Except some things I pointed out it was absolutely terrific. Your girlfriend is really lucky to get such a wonderful song dedicated to her.

..NEM.., very nice crit! I wish I could return the favour but you've got no links to any of your songs! And I agree with most of your critisism. No that I think about it the whole drum and bass part definitely uses too much snare, it sounds kinda awkward, maybe if I put less emphasis on it it would've worked better. The whole flute being up an octave thing I don't really see, but ya know, opinions.
people seem to really love the bass =P I'm not a bass player!

I can get back to you when I put something up.

And about the flute thing, I don't know. It's of course a preference thing and I'm sure it would sound better with a real flute since the GP flute sounds pretty bad IMO.
