Im about to put 12-52's on my LP, and I need to know if I have to mod the nut at all for them to fit. If so, how would I got about doing this without permanantly damaging the nut?

hmm... well... i would first get 11's and fit those in so that the nut gets relaxed to a thicker string... then your next set should be the 12s

i've been using 11's for months with my les paul too.i got it set up at a music center but i don't think they changed the nut.

Well I need to put in 12's, because Im playing in C standard, an 11's are way to floppy for me. Is it a must?

well it'd be smart to so the nut doesn't snap when you put the strings in and they go to full tension

You should be good with a 12-52 set. The only time I've heard of people breaking their nuts (har har) is with .60 and higher the low e.
