Im just a casual guitarist, but I often see people in the forums refer to grades. I know its not school grades, but they refer to guitar.

Could somebody please educate me on this. Im interested in it.

I think the UK has some sort of music/school program that has guitar levels that some people on here have gone through.

Yeah, I read about it, it's mostly theory and scales and such. Memorizing stuff. It seems fairly classically based, useful if you were too play guitar in an orchestra or something. It's probably stolen from piano grades, but don't quote me on that.

If you Google "registry of guitar tutors" (RGT), you can see what it's all about.
It's a worldwide group who teach and test from grade 1 to grade 8, and IMO are among the best guitar tutors there are.
Check their website out here

Hope this clears it up for you.
