so all my songs so far have(lyrically) been about hate and betrayal, and they have for the most part been in the first person, and while thats fine and dandy i was wondering if there were any tips on writing about different subject or different perspectives

use your imagination, observe those around you and write about what you think 'they' feel. Thats one easy way to come up with a million song ideas. go out, do something random, keep your eyes open.

Well you sound like me except instead of hate and betrayal i tend to write in third person with a short story fashion(a lot like some Rush songs) and cant seem to pull out of that mode

Counting bodies like sheep to the rhythm of the war drums
