Those are what I'm looking at and I'm going to get one of those, they have them at the store and Massachusetts is having a tax holiday which is going to save me some money. I'm not looking for other suggestions. I'm just wondering how much impact the slower processor speed is going to have, and how much different the graphics cards are.

Thanks!

The other sony because gaming laptops suck dick. If you wanna game, build a PC.

I say build your own. But out of those, get the Gateway. If you aren't into gaming, get the 1st Sony.

The sony has the best Graphics card out of those 3.

Uh, no it doesnt. The 8800 > HD3450 or W/E. The first option was the best GPU, but don't get it anyway since gaming lappy's are pointless.

The third option is best all around for your buck. It has the second best graphics, but at the same time has the most RAM and fastest processor. If you ABSOLUTELY had to pick one of those three, get the 3rd option.
My Equipment:

-KE3 Kelly Jackson
-Hyburn Stratocaster
-Marshall G80RCD
-Marshall AVT series 4x12" extension cab.
-Digitech Death Metal Distortion Pedal

Seeing as the first Sony only has 3GBs of RAM implies that it's 32-bit. For stability, I'd say go with a 32-bit OS, but for future gaming/software, I would say choose 64-bit.

once again, H3470>8400... It's true!

Hmm...I see. I thought this because it's an 8800M not a 8800gt.

This one

Asus M50

2.53GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
4GB RAM
Nvidia GeForce 9600M GS w/ 1GB of VRAM

It's pretty much the laptop I'll be getting when I graduate.
