Sell your old amp for like 50 bucks and buy a Roland Micro Cube or Cube 15 with that money and the money you were gonna use to buy a pedal.

'97 Gibson Explorer w/ Duncan SH-4 and SH-2
Fender Jazz Bass 'Crafted in Japan'
Yamaha Acoustic Guitar
Vox AD30VT w/ VFS2

I know I need a new amp anyways but I figured i would also end up getting a pedal so thats why I was looking for one also.

In that case when I think about it then whats the best amp for around 200 bucks that has a good grunge sound to it, where I wouldn't really need a pedal.

That's what I was thinking let's say I have around 200 what should I get? I could go 250 If I had to, because this fender 99 buck thing I have is pure ass in a hand basket.

I recommend the Digitech grunge. I have one (don't use it any more though since i bought different gear) and it's pretty decent for it's price. It'll give u a lot of gain...

Stay away from that Marshall. The non-tube marshall's a pure Shyte.

I would go for that Roland.
