Hi all. I'm considering replacing the tune-o-matic bridge on my Edwards LP with a Gibraltar or something equally wide and flat because it's easier to palm mute on and adjust action with. First, I'd like to know if this is remotely practical. This will be my first real customization, and if necessary I can get someone to do any wood mods that might be necessary.
Secondly, where can I get a Gibraltar bridge or something similar? Warmoth doesn't seem to have them by name and I couldn't find them anywhere else without buying a guitar equipped with one. Thanks in advance.

Looks like its an Ibanez part? You probably have to get it used, if thats the case.

Is there any bridge that is similar in design that can be obtained new?

Schaller makes one that I know for a fact is really good. I've seen it used a few times and it sounds great, looks cool. The adjustability is really good.

Look around on google, you might find it cheaper than Stewmac.

I really like this one:

but its a bit crazy for some people.
