We are moving so we have to get everything to our new house. I picked up my amp (peavey 212), and it is very heavy. Well I put it in the jeep. And a slow, nonbumpy 5 minute ride later. I brought it up to my new room and tried to plug in my Zune. And all the amp did was crackle. So I checked the back and it was lighting up.
Did I break my tubes?
How much would new ones cost?

whack the top.

seriously, give it about a 7 out of 10 whack, and it'll probably work.

it's worked on a couple amps for me

I will try that when I get back to my moms house.

it didn't work..

They are groove tubes in a peavey 212 combo amp. So any recommendations for tubes or cheap ways to fix it?

voltmeter?

probably gonna be tedious, but it'll find what's pooched...

or whack it again?
