In the spirit of the Olympics, a local radio station is playing songs each day from "Team America", "Team England", and "Team Canada". So I thought, who would win? What country has great music consistently come out of? America gave us the Doors, Guns N Roses, and Hendrix. England gave us The Beatles, Clapton, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and the Who. So much good music has come out of so many countries, the competition could go to anyone.

Discuss.
Any countries are good, not just the ones I mentioned.

...America did not give us Clapton.

Clapton was British.
Did you know the odds of a Vault-Tec shelter failing are 1,763,497 to 1?

So imagine life in a Vault-Tec Vault. Not just a future.
A brighter future... underground.

Neil Young... and The Guess Who, if you'll count them as good.

I have no excuse for my oversight in thinking Eric Clapton was American. I never really knew he was British I guess.... but that is not an excuse, I should have known that.

Not really a musical Olympics you have listed there. More like the classic rock olympics.

Because thats what I'm into, so I know much more about classic rock than say, Reggae. The
point isn't too take what I've posted and choose a winner, my post is kind of a jumping off point to get the thread started. I want people to expand on my idea, across many different genres and nations.

England: Deep Purple

America: Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, Thin Lizzy, Metallica, and Van Halen

Australia: AC/DC, Wolfmother

Well Scandinavia gave us power metal so they lose...Bryan Adams came out of Canada so they're heavily handicapped...Looks like this is going to end up with Kid Rock trying to beat up someone.

What the fuck do you mean "britain always gives us the roots"?? All of those bands were derived from American blues, like Robert Johnson, or early American Rock and Roll, like Chuck Berry.

These inevitably lead to silly "my country is better, lol" bitchfests. Personally, I'm torn between the US, the UK, and Canada.

your right i should have said the genre starters, the actual roots lie in B.B. king, chuck berry, i might be wrong but i think little richard (correct me if i am), i misswrote that, my bad

didnt say you did, just thought a guy with jim morrison in his posting pic (what is that actually called) would be a huge amercan artist fan.
