Guns Up! - Europe Shows: Off
Current mood: high
Category: Music

Hello. For those of you wondering if we are in fact playing May 31 in Dublin, and June 1 in Leeds, this is to inform you that we are not. This is a trip that we were all looking forward to, and were preparing for.

About a month and a half ago, when we announced we were playing Sound and Fury 2008, a UK promoter contacted us about playing 1 or 2 shows in the UK prior to that. The stipulation was that the promoter would fly us over, and seeing as we still have a few outstanding debts as a band that we would like to clear up, we saw this as a good way to A) hang out with each other, as that gets harder and harder to do working full-time jobs and living apart, and B) pay off some of those debts.

Fast forward to about 3-4 weeks ago, and the promoter still had not purchased our plane tickets. The promoter let us know that he was now a considerable amount short of cash to buy these tickets. This had us worried as we're all needing to schedule time off of work (and school) and felt it not prudent to do so without having the plane tickets bought and in-hand. As of now, the plane tickets remain unpurchased despite assurances (more than a few) that we would have the tickets purchased "tomorrow."

So, factoring in things like work and school, and the plans that we need to make in order make this trip happen, we have no other choice but to inform you that we will not be able to make it over to the other side of the pond for the planned shows.

We are, however, still playing Sound and Fury 2008 (www.myspace.com/soundandfuryfestival), which will be the only North American show we will be playing in the foreseeable future.

They broke up like 4 or 5 years ago I thought.. maybe more recently then that. They just played sound and fury, and this is hardcore. im pretty sure they are playing great american hardcore fest. i heard they are gonna be done after this year though but idk. band is a complete No Warning rip off but they are awesome regardless and I'm pissed I missed em at TIH and never got a chance to see them before they broke up.

they blatantly ripped demon by entombed in their song won't change for me.
it's one thing if you take a riff and change it up a bit, but it is almost exactly the same.
and does anyone know why shipwreck and guns up both say, "why should i love a world that won't love me back? why should i love a world that won't acknowledge me?" in one of their songs?

The singer from Shipwreck wrote it while he was in Guns Up. Both bands acknowledge it as a lyric they're fond of (when Guns Up played that song when I saw them, they paused before that part to mention that they consider the guy a "great poet"), so they both use it.

When I saw them a really fat dude was "hardcore dancing" in front of me and kept kicking me. It was unpleasant. It wasn't horrible because his immense girth provided a layer of cushioning. Then he pushed the crowd back and almost knocked over the mixer at the back. That basically wore him out though. I was considering drop-kicking him later during Ceremony, but I couldn't find him.
