What would you say was the most common name famous musicians have

eg

John lennon entwistle, paul jones, bonham, myung

James/Jimmy/Jimi Hetfield Page Hendrix Labrie

Steve Vai, Lukather, Ray Vaughan
#2
Well, in country music, everyone has the name "Lee" somewhere in their name usually... Actually, not really, but it kind of seems like that... Um I would have to agree with you on the John one, though..

i can agree on john lennon, jimmy page, and jimi hendrix, but i cant agree with you on all the other ones. the casual fan wont have a clue who labrie or myung or bonham is.

Nergal...
Seriously though, its probably John or James, simply because musicians (especially in the 1900s) predominantly were English or American, and those are very common names.

I believe there's another musician called Yngwie Malmsteen, that's why the neo-classical shredder includes his middle initial.

EDIT: Here's the interview where I found out about that

Adding John Frusciante and John Denver to the list of John's.

And if stage names count Johnny rotten as a variation of John. I also believe John Coltrane.
