I can play pretty good on the guitar, but when i do hammerons and pulloffs, it kinda sucks because I can barely hear it.

I can do it .."okay" on distortion, but on clean i cant hear it at all.

i tried it with my action low and my action high, I can't do it :'(

can someone give me a tip or two?

i used search bar on this and couldn't find something on this, and not sure if this is where i go to post the thread.

edit: I press it really hard and pull off fast when i do it, and also tried doing it soft but still don't work

make sure your not just lifting up for the pull offs .......make your flicking the string.........adn hammersons are all about finger strength

well even in the beginning, I found hammer-ons pretty easy, just play a note and hammer-on with enough force to keep the string vibrating. Try playing the first note harder to give the string a little more oomph sp you're hammering finger doesn't have to do quite as much work.
as for pull-offs you don't just pull up vertically as fast as you can, you have to pull off to the side so you're kind of plucking it with the finger you're pulling off with.

Try different thumb placement on the back of the neck this will help with control. Practice on one string for example the song Thunderstruck from Ac/Dc. I also find it easier playing my hammer ons with the index and my pinkie fingers for some reason. Practice makes perfect so dont give up

Did you try raising your pickups closer to the strings? That will help you pick up more of the sound being generated.

yah i had the same problem but really just hammer the fret as hard as you can without taking away the power from the next note and with pull offs dont lift pull. wow... i finally understand what they mean
