can't help with the first.. sorry BUT! for the second part, it doesn't need a specific fret to end on. you can just say "slide down"

when you say one chord i assume you mean that one string, and as long as your palm muting it shouldnt make much noise anyway

and when you slide down either go all the way down or just listen to the song and see where kurt slides to, hope i was a help
